A voice forged by the angels themselves, Emily has long been praised for her delicate and emotional vocal delivery. Her soft and sweet songwriting echos the safe spaces of Joni Mitchell and Patty Griffin’s lyricism. More recently inspired by songwriters such as Jose Gonzalez and Ben Howard, Emily’s music seems to fit uniquely in the pop, folk, and acoustic realms. The half-Japanese singer-songwriter began her journey in Edmonton, Canada, where she nurtured a growing passion for writing and performing. From the age of 15, she took frequent trips to Nashville, TN, where she sharpened her craft and performed in legendary venues around Music City. She relocated to Toronto, CA, where she joined a thriving community of artists and recorded her first body of work. Her debut EP 'oh fire' has garnered over 1.5 million streams across all platforms, with its hit song 'Moon' landing a sync licensing deal with Aero Chocolate in 2017. Emily’s music has since been synced to popular tv shows such as 'Pretty Little Liars' and 'The Heights'. Her singles 'Full Bloom' and 'One Day' gained their first spins on Triple J, as well as her single 'Seven Days' landing the Spotify editorial playlist 'Softly'. 2023 saw her debut as a self-produced artist, releasing her single 'How To Love' which features the vocals of Icelandic artist JFDR.
